"Tarra"Tarra is an authentic 38 foot timber Spray, with another 11 foot of bowsprit, built from the plan lines in Joshua Slocums book- "Sailing Alone Around the World". Powered by a 120 horse Perkins, a Paragon hydraulic gearbox, swinging a 20 inch three bladed prop. Built of inch and a quarter black butt hardwood nailed and roved. She has a centre cockpit, a beam of fourteen foot ten inches and a draft of four foot eight inches with the addition of timber bilge keels which enable her to sit upright when beached. She is gaffed rigged with tan sails and sail covers. The decks have been raised to allow for more head room down below.
